Global Studies Student Ambassador (FALL Term)

For students (graduate or undergraduate) currently enrolled in one of the Global Studies Center's academic programs.  The Global Studies Student Ambassador (GSSA) Fellowship pays a partial term's tuition, and involves partnering closely with the GSC over the course of the academic year or term. Winners will be expected to begin their Fellowship within the first week of the Fall term. The Fellowship amount will be credited to the student's PeopleSoft account.  Student Fellows will be required to contribute to GSC activities for 10 hours per week during the term by assisting with guest lectures, films and weekend outreach workshops, student recruitment, and other special projects.


Information Specialist Intern

Open to any student currently enrolled in the University of Pittsburgh. The intern will assist GSC administrators with website site updating and development; technical support; technical consultation; information processing and management of Chromebooks. A complete description of the activities is available. The internship will require 10-15 hours per week. The Information Specialist Intern will receive partial tuition remission that will be credited to the student's PeopleSoft account for the awarded academic term.
Students must be able to demonstrate professional work etiquette including: strong interpersonal, public speaking, and writing skills, and ability to work independently, arrive promptly and take initiative.   

Publications/Public Relations Intern

Open to any student currently enrolled in the University of Pittsburgh. The intern will help with the various publications produced by the Center, including an annual report, publicity materials, and newsletters. The intern will have the opportunity to write public relations copy, create articles, and engage with staff on multiple projects with an international and educational focus. The internship position will require excellent written and oral communication skills. The intern must be knowledgeable in the Adobe Creative software suite, specifically InDesign and Photoshop, and ideally will have an understanding of web content and design. The internship will require 10-15 hours per week. The Publications/Public Relations Intern will receive partial tuition remission that will be credited to the student's PeopleSoft account for the awarded academic term.

Film Production Intern

The intern will be responsible for editing and completing videos for GSC’s Global Issues Rapid Response Series; for filming and editing student narrative clips, guest lectures and GSC promotional videos; and for arranging online teleconferencing.  Student must be trained in film production and editing and demonstrate ability to produce short film clips.  He or she will need to perform other related duties as needed. The intern should have basic knowledge of film and video platforms; be self-directed and reliable; and have the ability to work independently. The internship will require 10-15 hours per week. The Film Production Intern will receive partial tuition remission that will be credited to the student's PeopleSoft account for the awarded academic term.
